The Professional Placement Officer coordinates and administers clinical placements for postgraduate psychology students, ensuring compliance, accurate documentation, and effective collaboration with students, partner organisations, and University stakeholders.

As a Professional Placement Officer, you will:

  • Be responsible for developing, implementing and contributing to the administration processes and procedures to efficiently coordinate current and planned future clinical placement allocation of students to meet required deadlines while ensuring consistent processes and accuracy of clinical data.
  • Work in collaboration with key staff to maintain and support relationships with placement partners to ensure student placements are facilitated, managed and maintained in a timely and efficient manner to the satisfaction of the external partners and accrediting bodies, and are in accordance with university and course regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with the senior administrative and academic teams and undertake projects as required such as promulgating new processes, review, develop and implement new systems for the effective administration of the discipline’s clinical placement program.
  • Maintain a thorough and up to date knowledge of issues affecting placements within the sector.

 To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience in administration and related activities in a large organisation with complex administrative structures, policies and procedures.
  • Experience in operating in a high-pressure diverse environment, involving face to face, phone and written issue.
  • Experience providing services and support in a large organisation.
