As a Clinical Trial Manager you will:

  • Collaborate closely with the DTH team and DTH support roles to optimise quality assurance processes to ensure University clinical trial activities align with the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, the Therapeutic Goods Act, the Privacy and Data Protection Act (2014), ICH-GCP/ISO 14155, the National Statement and other relevant legislation when developing and conducting clinical trials.
  • Act as the content expert for the development and ongoing upkeep of the Deakin Clinical Trials portal.
  • Provide clinical trial operational expertise for the development of secure data management platform(s) across the clinical trial life cycle.
  • Develop processes that enhance the quality of funding applications that involve clinical trials, (e.g., identifying areas of alignment across Institutes, assistance with planning funding bids, building partnerships).
  • Provide high level and day-to-day guidance to trial staff in the operational elements of the clinical trial process including ethics, contracts, multi-institution agreements, establishing of Data Safety Monitoring Boards, data management (e.g., advise on trial registration, data dictionaries, storage and data sharing policies), safety reporting and other trial related activities.                                                                                          

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications (for example, in a science or health discipline) or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience in the coordination and management of clinical trials or a Clinical Trial Unit and management expertise; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • ICH GCP certification is required.
  • Experience working in clinical trials.
