The Faculty of Health is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching, learning, creativity, social development, and groundbreaking research and discovery. We work closely with industry partners and government bodies to translate discoveries into real-word impact. This role will specifically be working within the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences.

 

About the role:

The Associate Lecturer (education focused) in Exercise and Sport Science Professional Practice will work collaboratively as part of a teaching team to develop and deliver learning materials and activities to enhance the student learning experience and teaching and learning outcomes. The position will engage collaboratively with leaders from within the teaching team, School and wider university community to initiate, design and conduct productive, high-quality, scholarship activities to enhance student experiences and teaching and learning outcomes in their discipline area.

 

This position is suited to a person with an emerging record and passion for learning and teaching, a keen interest in contributing to community engagement for teaching and employability.

 

As an Associate Lecturer in Exercise and Sport Science Professional Practice, Education-focused, you will:

  • Develop effective learning materials and activities as part of a design team or with guidance from the teaching team and demonstrate awareness of ongoing innovation in curriculum design.
  • Assist in applying industry, clinical and/or research practice into student learning experiences, success, engagement and resources.
  • Deliver effective teaching practices within unit and suggest approaches to innovate teaching practices to improve student success and engagement.
  • Maintain appropriate discipline knowledge and constructively review and refine own teaching practice to help maintain teaching quality standards.
  • Support and assist with teaching scholarship, pedagogical or discipline-based research activity including publications.

 

To be successful, you’ll have:

  •  PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience in delivering practicum/placement programmes in Exercise Science or related disciplines.
  • Emerging record of high-quality learning and teaching in postgraduate or undergraduate programmes, preferably with a focus on practicum/placement programmes.
  • Evidence of scholarly engagement with innovative curriculum design.
  • Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning.
  • Ability to deliver effective teaching practices to improve student success and engagement.
